The 4th Annual ‘Iolani Community Action Network’s (ICAN) “One Day, One Team” global day of community service is right around the corner.  Please join alumni and their ‘ohana in collectively utilizing their power to better our global community.  Select a project in your city and register below by October 18, and receive an ICAN t-shirt to wear during the project.

ICAN "One Day, One Team" in partnership with Malama Maunalua will be removing algae, loading trucks and learning about the Paiko region at Maunalua Bay. Volunteers should wear ICAN t-shirt, comfortable clothing. Footwear, gloves and bags will be provided. Please complete the ICAN waiver and bring the completed form on the project day. ICAN "One Day, One Team" in partnership with Bead Relief will be making "bead relief" bracelets and other marketing materials while working with a middle school in Santa Monica to sell these bracelets. Bracelets sold at the middle school will raise funds for a local organization that helps the homeless while bracelets that sell through the website help local non-profit organizations. Volunteers should wear ICAN t-shirt, comfortable clothing. Please complete the ICAN waiver and bring the completed form on the project day. ICAN "One Day, One Team" in partnership with the San Francisco Food Bank will be sorting and packaging food to be distributed to food pantries, children's snack programs and soup kitchens throughout the San Francisco area. ICAN "One Day, One Team" in partnership with Boulder Flood Relief will be assisting in providing relief for displaced and in need individuals of the recent flood that affected the Boulder, Colorado area. Specific activities have yet to be determined for the volunteer day, but may include cleaning and rebuilding of damaged structures. ICAN "One Day, One Team" in partnership with Christmas Village Orphanage Home in Tokyo, Japan will bring a little local party and cheer to approximately 75 children between the ages of 3-17 years old. This year's theme is Halloween, including costumes and games. Volunteers should wear ICAN t-shirt, comfortable clothing. ICAN "One Day, One Team" in partnership with Feeding Hong Kong will be collecting food from local businesses and delivering it to Feeding Hong Kong's warehouse to sort and make individual meal packs for people, setting them aside for delivery the following morning. Volunteers should wear ICAN t-shirt and comfortable clothing with sturdy closed-toe shoes (no sandals, slippers, Crocs, etc.). Please bring reusable bags or unused garbage bags for collection, and complete the ICAN waiver and bring the completed form on the project day.
